If you see an Airstream on the highway today you're seeing a real blast from the past. They are pretty rare now but in the 60's and 70's they were very popular. They are easily recognized by the distinctive shape of their rounded polished aluminum coachwork and were considered to be pretty swanky by the 1970's standards. #2 Redesigned Using Salvaged Materials

The outside is the same as you would have seen in 1979, but the interior has been remodeled to resemble a rustic cabin. They used only salvaged materials found from around the city to complete the redesign, including some refurbished appliances and light fixtures. From the minute you step inside, the wood flooring and sleek cabinetry grab your attention.

#3 Great Location Near The French Quarter

Located in near downtown New Orleans, parked right behind someone's house under a big Sycamore tree, the former auto has a queen size bed nook, claw foot tub, outdoor shower and a fully equipped kitchen. You will be within walking distance from The French Quarter, Bourbon Street, and the Garden District.

#4 Cozy But Not Cluttered

Utilizing features similar to tiny houses to maximize space, there are many nooks and crannies, like under the bed and above the walkways, to offer ample storage space. The Airstream was always considered very roomy for a trailer to begin with, but the redesign of this interior maximizes every possible open space without appearing too cluttered. The piece de resistance of the rental, arguably, is the outdoor shower. Just step out from the bedroom onto your porch and there is a power rain shower hidden behind the fencing, just below the trees.
