No matter where you are from, each area has its own little quirks that the people have adapted to. If you are from the northeastern part of the United States, you tend to lose the letter 'r' when you speak among saying other things differently. You say things like cawfee (coffee), dawg (dog), and you pak the cah (park the car). The midwestern parts of the United States also have their own things that are specific to that area. Here are just a few quirks that only midwesterners can tell you are totally true.
Only People From The Midwest Can Tell You That All Of These Are Absolutely True
Welcome To The Midwest
Every part of the world has things that are particular to that part of the world. The Midwest, for example, has tons of little quirks, sayings, and actions that only people from that area are totally aware of. Here are some of the most common things particular to that area of the world.
Ranch Dressing
It really does not matter where you are from, many people love Ranch dressing. However, nobody loves it quite like the people of the Midwest. They use it for everything. It is kind of like how people in the south use hot sauce on everything.
Corn
The Midwest is full of cornfields. Cornfields as far as the eye can see. And, yes, they do have a ton of soybean fields too. A fun fact, most of these fields are actually surrounded by marijuana plants. I do not know why, but it is true. Don't get excited, though. It is ditch weed that you would truly regret smoking afterward.
Ope
Ope is a term used in the Midwest to replace the word "whoops" or "oops" or even "excuse me". It is pretty universal and not heard outside of the Midwest unless a person is a Midwest transplant.
Taco In A Bag
Personally, I have never heard of taco in a bag, but I can see why it is popular in the Midwest. Imagine having a bonfire with all of your neighbors and just chilling out while eating your taco out of a bag. It sounds like heaven.
Puppy Chow
If you have never had this tasty treat, you do not know what you are missing out on. Forget regular Chex mixes that you are used to seeing at parties. This is like heaven for your mouth. It will surely give you a taste of nirvana.
Sorry
If you thought people from the South were nice, you obviously never met anyone from the Midwest. They are so nice and are always apologizing because they just want to see people be happy. More people should be like the kind folks of the Midwest.
Muggy
Anytime it is humid, people will always say that it is humid, unless you are from the Midwest. In the Midwest, it is muggy outside. We are not sure where the word came from, but it is just a thing.
Cornhole
You would think a game like cornhole would be something you would find in the south, but it is not. Remember that the Midwest is pretty much covered in corn fields. Now you know why this game is a Midwest treat.
Taco Pizza
People all across this great nation love tacos, but no one loves tacos more than the good folks of the Midwest. They love it so much that they even have taco pizzas on most pizza place menus.
John Deere
If you have ever lived in or traveled through the Midwest, you will see these bad boys everywhere. You might get stuck behind one on the highway or see one on every farm that you drive past. They are so popular that there is even a museum dedicated to this brand of tractor.
Potholes and Road Construction
The Midwest is rich in good people, not money. So, when there is construction or things that just need to be fixed, it usually takes forever because they do not have the money to expedite certain projects.
Cow!
This is a game that everyone who has ever taken a road trip will play. Whenever you see a cow, horse, deer, etc, you call out what you see. Usually, you do this because you are not used to seeing these animals. But, if you are from the Midwest, even though you see these things every day, you still call it out.
