Internet is confused and desperate to know the science behind the hidden numbers seen differently by every person on this optical illusion. According to one person what number you see may be down to how your eyes work. The different numbers predict the contrast sensitivity of each person and how it simply affects one's ability to see at night, or in rain, fog, etc.”
An optical illusion with hidden numbers has left the internet confused and scratching their heads as different people report different numbers.
Recently, one Twitter user @benonwine posted the illusion of a black and white circle that shows hidden numbers that have left the users baffled.
The confusing zig-zag pattern in a circle plays tricks on vision as the image continues to revolve showing different numbers to people. The Twitter user captioned the picture: "DO you see a number? If so, what number?"
Internet surprisingly responded differently with each person claiming they saw a different combination of numbers, as one user commented: “45 283...and what's the catch? Should I book an appointment with my GP?”
Another said: “I can only see 528. Does that mean anything about my eyesight?”

Another replied: “1528? What’s going on here?”
To solve the mystery, one Twitter user wrote that the number you see has something to do with how your eyes work.
He said: “I'm guessing the numbers you see depends on your 'contrast sensitivity' (different from what a standard eye measures).“It can be tested by opticians. Worth doing if you're struggling, as it can affect your ability to see at night, or in rain, fog, etc.”
Reportedly, the Vision Centre says, “contrast sensitivity is the ability to distinguish between an object and the background behind it.
"Contrast sensitivity is different from visual acuity, which measures how clear your vision is at a given distance.”
Despite the confusion and different theories regarding the optical illusion, one user joked the number is the “number of parties Johnson has had since the first lockdown”.
