But did you know even die-hard fans of the 1994 comedy might be unaware of an original, rather saucy scene that never saw the light of day in the final cut?

This deleted snippet from the film has gone viral, stirring up quite a buzz!

The Reddit post unveiled a clip featuring Laura (Wendy Crewson) dropping her son off at Scott's place for some festive fun.

In a surprising moment, Laura hands Scott a paper with her new partner's emergency contact info, to which Scott quips sarcastically, "1-8000-Spank-me. I know that number!" This never-before-seen exchange has stirred quite a reaction among viewers.

Reddit users speculated why the scene was deleted. Walt Disney Pictures

Viewers speculate that the scene got the axe not just for its cheeky improv but because the number Scott mentions actually belonged to a sex chat line.

Surprisingly, the number has now been completely disconnected, adding an extra layer of mystery to this rediscovered snippet.

In a curious twist, back in 1994, an AP article surfaced about a grandmother who took her grandchildren to see the film in theaters and was utterly shocked by the chat-line reference.

"I don't think children need to be exposed to that," said Shirley Dearth.

The woman reportedly said her grandchildren called the number and put it on loud speaker - which she allowed them to do as she didn't think it would actually ring.

However, a recording of a 'sultry woman's voice' came through, stating:

"Hi sexy! You've just connected to the hottest phone line in America, brought to you by American TelNet. Our one-of-a-kind service lets you choose your own phone fantasy."

According to fact-checker Snopes, the scene appeared in the film's original theatrical releases and even made its way into the initial VHS and LaserDisc versions.

"However, the line was removed from subsequent videocassette runs and future airings on Disney Channel, and apparently was never included on DVD or Blu-ray discs," the organisation said. "Nor is it available on streaming with Disney+."

One Reddit contributor pondered, "Wasn't it because there was a 1-800 number that matched that?"

Another chimed in, suggesting, "Because supposedly it was a real number?"

What happens when you dial the number?

I don't know why I was hoping for a recording of Tim Allen to greet me on the other line.

Unfortunately, when you dial 1800 SPANK ME (1800-772-6563) it's not Tim Allen, Santa Clause, or even an NSFW hotline.

It was a pre-recorded message telling me the number had been disconnected.

Bummer.
