People Urge Woman to Go No Contact As Parents Pressure Her To Have C-Section For Their Own Convenience

When they say it takes a village, they probably mean a prosperous one because not everyone is surrounded by people batting a thousand. For this woman, it was her very own parents who were causing a ruckus when it came to her pregnancy.

OP said that she was flustered and baffled by their demands. She was due to have her baby very soon and since the pregnancy was a surprise, she had faced many challenges over the past 8 months.

She said that she had been facing discrimination at work in addition to experiencing some difficult symptoms throughout the pregnancy which had triggered her anxiety.

Parents, as one would expect would be pillars of support for their daughter going through such a difficult time. Unfortunately for OP, hers did not step up to the plate. They had asked OP and her husband to make a 10-hour drive for Christmas which they refused to do.

OP said her doctor had told her not to make the drive either but the parents simply wouldn't budge. In fact, they continued to push for them to come despite the doctor's reservations.

It seemed their own convenience was the most important thing to them. OP's father went through a routine surgery that she had been checking in with them about during this time.

OP's mother had also developed a habit of trying to manipulate her into getting a C-section saying that every woman in the family ended up getting one.

OP told her mom, she wanted to do no such things but would constantly need to fend off comments in subsequent conversations.

OP wondered why she was being pushed towards a C-section. She realized it was because they were trying to schedule her based on their own convenience. Her mom mentioned a few off-hand dates of appointments her father needed to make and wanted OP to somehow work around them.

OP finally snapped and told her mother that she would not be altering her birth plan for them. She also told them not to bother coming if they were going to act that way.
