#1 We're not sure what to call this dog mix.

Though a lot of people might want a purebred, people are becoming more comfortable with mutts and crossbreeding of all kinds. However, this mix will leave you scratching your head! If you mix a labrador retriever and a poodle, you get a labradoodle. If you mix a pug and a beagle, you get a puggle. But we're not sure what the name is for this combo!

#2 Rescuers decided to name him Rami and he's half Pitt and Doxie.

Dawn Blanton, of the Moultrie Humane Society has named this little mix Rami. She says he's a rescue dog from Georgia, and is the result of a romance between a dachshund and a pit bull! Really!

#3 He has the head of a Pitt Bull and the body of a Dachshund.

Rami was found wandering in a man's front yard, and when the guy called animal control, he had no idea how to describe the mixed animal. When the rescue team arrived, they realized Rami had the head of a pitbull, and the distinctive body of a dachshund. They put his picture online, and the response was overwhelming.

#4 The Humane Society has a brand new celebrity on their hands.

Everyone wanted to bring this unusual looking dog into their homes! However, instead of having him bring happiness to one family, they decided to spread joy to everyone! The Moultrie-Colquitt County Humane Society in Georgia posted pictures of Rami, a 1-year-old Dachshund/Pit Bull mix, to their Facebook page. It took less than 24 hours for the photos to go viral.

#5 Over 1 million hits to the page has made Rami a superstar.

The shelter has received so many inquiries about the dog that they say they will take their time sorting through applications. Humane Society employee Don Flowers said they want to find adopters who will not try to exploit Rami for his one-of-a-kind looks.

#6 The person or family who will eventually adopt Rami will be fully vetted.

Flowers said, "It will be a pretty tough test for people wanting this dog, they're going to have to answer questions, we're going to do follow-up inspections on him, go out to peoples' homes if they're close by and verify that dog is okay." He is one of a kind.

#7 Rami has trained to become a service dog at the shelter.

First Rami had to undergo training to become a certified therapy dog. Now, Rami not only helps people, but he helps other dogs get comfortable in the shelter! He even watches over the cats.

#8 He visits hospitals, nursing homes, and schools as an ambassador for the shelter.

Rami is now a little bit of a celebrity, and acts an animal ambassador. He spends time visiting schools, hospitals, and even nursing homes, bringing smiles to people's faces everywhere he goes! Children of all ages get a delight meeting Rami, and his disposition is amazing.

#9 He is already fully grown and only weighs 25 pounds!

It's great that this little rescue dog was able to find his place in life! Instead of wandering the streets searching for shelter and affection, Rami shows love to all of the people he visits! The dog is fully-grown at 25 pounds.

#10 Rami was one lucky dog, as most rescues are never given fame but get euthanized.

Mix breed dogs usually make the best pets, as do shelter dogs, who are grateful for being homed to a loving family, but even though Rami is the cutest dog, I still wish people would spay and neuter their pets. Not all of them are as fortunate as this dog is, most of unwanted pets wind up in a kill shelter, or thrown away like a sack of garbage having to fend for themselves. Cute or not.
