Tony worked at El Paso County in Colorado for a good 30 years and is considered one of the longest-serving officers there. So naturally when he retired the atmosphere in the office was quite sad. Tony himself was feeling quite emotional and decided to have a lone moment to himself in the office elevator. However, what Tony was not aware of was that there was a secret camera installed in the elevator and that all his actions were captured on camera.
Deputy Tony Scherb dedicated his life of good 29 years working for the El Paso County Sheriff's Office and was known among his colleagues as a professional and strict man. However, everyone at work was left completely taken aback when a hidden camera in the elevator caught him in the act.
It seems like Tony had no idea that a camera was installed in the elevator.
Apparently, it was the day of retirement for Tony when he got into the elevator. He thought he was alone in there and had little to no idea that a secret camera was recording his every move.
Though it was only a matter of a few hours when everyone in the office got wind of Tony's actions.
Tony has worked for the El Paso County in Colorado for almost 30 years and was one of the longest-serving officers there. But some of the coworkers found him intimidating and too serious.
He worked with the transport and traffic units and was one of the best officers in his unit. However, his coworkers were unaware of this side of Tony.
As Tony said goodbye to his coworkers on his final day at the office, his coworkers were sad and promised him that they will come to meet him.
Now how a secret camera in the elevator at the Sheriff's office? Apparently, the elevator was malfunctioning constantly and so the team decided to install a secret camera. Something that Tony was completely unaware of.
The authorities got the camera installed to learn the issue.
On his last day, Tony was feeling emotional but didn't want to show it to anyone and so waited till he got on the elevator alone. Now he was free to do whatever he wanted to do with no one around.
Though Tony had no idea that what he will do in the elevator will become a memory for everyone in the office for a long time to come.
As the door to the elevator closed, Tony started grooving to Silento's "Watch Me" playing in the elevator's speakers. He didn't know he was being watched and continued dancing and singing until the lift reached the ground floor.
Though he had no idea that he would be joined in his dance by the chief deputy.
Well, if you don't know about this song, "Watch Me (Whip/Nae Nae) is a hip-hop song by R&B artist Silento. It became instantly famous for its lyrics and dance moves. Like many others, Tony also liked this song.
He started improvising his dance steps not knowing that his moves were getting recorded.
Tony was having the time of his life dancing in the lift. Who needs a dancefloor when you can dance in the elevator?
Now, when the elevator stopped, officer Reid entered the lift where Tony was still dancing and singing. He couldn't get out of his groove in time!
While they were having fun, the elevator made another stop, and the chief deputy officer entered the lift. What did he do?
The two immediately stood straight and pretended to be having a serious conversation. They didn't want their seniors to know what they were doing in the elevator earlier.
The officer gave them a skeptical look but Tony didn't care at this point as he has already retired. And guess what? It didn't take long for her to get in the mood, and she started to move her legs too!
Soon both of them were showing off their dance moves and doing the Stanky leg together. Officer Reid wasn't in the mood at first, but Tony's dance moves really impressed her.
Though the dance had stopped, the trio was really enjoying the moves to stop at this point.
Even the chief deputy officer started to move his body to the song. Tony couldn't wait for him to leave so he could get back to his dancing. He said goodbye to the officer and started dancing again the moment the chief exited the elevator.
Now as the chief deputy officer left, school resource officer deputy Murphy came inside. What did she do when she saw them?
The trio kept on dancing in the elevator, not suspecting the camera was recording every more. And no, the Superman didn't join them, but something amazing did happen.
"Do The Stanky Leg"
The trio was enjoying the music, dancing their hearts out with no idea that they were being recorded on camera.
When the lyrics referring to Superman came, they imitated the flying style. They were then joined by Sheriff Bill Elder, who was also their senior. And they had some crazy fun in the elevator.
Again, they stopped dancing, but it was the Sheriff who took the initiative of restarting the party. The group really went all out over the Silento song.
Watch the entertaining dance moves!
Now the video was too entertaining to keep it to themselves only and so the Sheriff's Office made a Facebook post about Tony and attached the camera footage. "Tony earned the reputation from his peers and supervisors as being highly professional and exceptionally knowledgeable," they said.
The video went viral on YouTube with a million views overnight. I mean it is not every day that we see serious-looking police officers growing to music and that too in perfectly synced moves.
