#1 Bulldog

In 1835, the English Bulldog were used in bull pens as bait, but over time and with intensive breeding, they became a favorite of pet owners, despite suffering from many illnesses.

#2 Bull Terrier

A combination of Bulldog and old English Terrier, the Bull Terrier came about in the early 1800s, developing a thicker abdomen and warped skill over time.

#3 Dachshund

Four Hundred years ago, Dachshunds came into being and were much more proportionate than they are today. With human intervention, these dogs suffer from intervertebral disc disease that can sometimes lead to paralysis.

#4 German Shepherd

In the 1850s the German Shepherd was developed to herd sheep. Today they are heavier with a thick abdomen and a sharper stance.

#5 Saint Bernard

Today's Saint Bernard are taller and thicker, with broader more angular skulls. They were originally used by Roman soldiers as army dogs.

Developed in the 15th and 16th century, the Pug was created by the Portuguese from the Chinese happa dogs. They are prone to low oxygenation, high blood pressure, heart problems and they overheat a lot.
