Have you ever watched a 5-week-old polar bear cub sleep? There’s almost nothing cuter.
#1 5 Week Old Polar Bear Cub At The Columbus Ohio Zoo
According to the zoo, caretakers say the noise the female cub makes while she sleeps is a sound of contentment. And she makes a lot of noises. She is constantly making noises while 'napping', making motions, and rolling around her temporary bed. They decided to film her for all to enjoy.
#2 Sleeping Cub Dreaming As It Cuddled With A Stuffed Toy
The cub weighs just over 4 pounds, measures 16 inches long and has opened her eyes, though they're not fully open yet. She has not been named yet, as the zoo is asking visitors to submit proposed names. But caregivers at the zoo wonder just what is she dreaming about? She loves her fluffy toys and has been sleeping with several when she naps. Maybe she is dreaming of her mother?
#3 Her Motor Skills Are Improving Every Day And Soon She Will Be Housed In A Bigger Habitat
Her motor skills are improving each day and she has started trying to stand up on all fours, especially when she's ready for her next meal. And, she is currently eating six meals a day, which is every 4 hours. She will be full grown in about 4 1/2 months and ready to mate by age 6. Sadly though, Polar bears rarely live above the age of 25. By the time they reach this age, they begin to weaken.
