Cheating is among the most unpleasant things that may happen in a relationship.

There's no doubting that it hurts, whether it be physically or emotionally.

Moreover, it occurs far more frequently than you may imagine.

A YouGov survey conducted last year found that 54% of Americans who have been in a monogamous relationship claim to have experienced emotional, physical, or both forms of cheating.

Private investigator Aaron Bond provided The Sun with the most revealing indicators that there might be red flags regarding your partner's behavior, either to allay your concerns or to fuel them.

Phone Behaviour Changes

A rapid change in your partner's phone-related behavior could be a red flag, according to Bond.

You should be concerned if they frequently or for no apparent reason have changed their passcode.

Bond explains: “If they start taking their phone everywhere with them, even around the house, or they become defensive when you ask to use their phone it could be a sign of them not being faithful.”

Being Cagey About What They're Up To

Another characteristic of the unfaithful is that they may not be as excited to see you, show less desire to spend time with you, or even retreat and refuse to discuss their day.

Bond said: “If you feel like your partner has suddenly begun to avoid you and they don’t want to do things with you anymore or they stop telling you about their day then this is another red flag.”

“Partners often avoid their spouses or tell them less about their day because cheating can be tough, remembering all of your lies is impossible.”

A Change In Sex Drive

Concern should be expressed about both extremes of the spectrum.

Even if it might have nothing to do with you, if your partner suddenly shows little interest in your sexual life, it could be a sign of cheating.

On the other hand, if they appear to be insatiable, it can indicate that they are covering up their infidelity.

Bond said: “Cheaters often have less sex at home because they are cheating, but on occasions, they may also have more sex at home, this is because they feel guilty. [They] use this increase in sex to hide their cheating.”

“You may also find that your partner will start to introduce new things into your sex life that weren’t there before.”

They Have Much More Of A Negative Attitude

They may explode with stress as a result of cheating and holding it all in, but you might also feel the effects of this.

“To get rid of the tension they feel inside, they will try to convince themselves that you are the problem and they will become critical of you out of nowhere,” Bond said.

Naturally, the information above should be interpreted with extreme caution.

People are varied, and every relationship is unique. Naturally, there's no assurance that any of these changes indicate cheating. Even so, it's still quite intriguing.
