A woman who says she can communicate with the dead has a firm warning about how your bedroom is arranged — and she’s especially concerned if you have a mirror pointing directly at your bed.

Some people believe they can connect with spirits or beings from other realms beyond our own. These connections could be to those in the afterlife, purgatory, or even heaven — essentially anywhere a loved one might still have something left to say.

But not every presence that comes through is a kind or familiar one, and sometimes these visits carry more unsettling motives.

According to Leah, there’s a particular setup in the bedroom that could attract unwanted attention from the spirit world — and that’s having a mirror facing your bed while you sleep.

Leah, known on TikTok as @psychicleah, works as both a psychic medium and a demonologist. She shared a video explaining why this type of mirror placement could be risky, especially when it reflects your sleeping body through the night.

Warnings about mirrors are nothing new. Many psychics and spiritual practitioners have shared similar advice for centuries, with countless superstitions tied to them.

From avoiding breaking a mirror, to steering clear of chanting names into one, to never staring into it at 3 a.m., there’s a long list of “don’ts” that have stuck around in spiritual folklore.

Leah says there’s a solid reason you should never sleep facing a mirror, and it’s not just superstition.

Leah explained online: "I don't think I can actually stress this enough to people. Do not have a mirror facing your bed."

She said: "You will have unwanted spirits. You will have all types of spirits in your home and you don't wanna be the one that I have to come out to - so I can clear something low vibrational - typically an entity that isn't particularly nice."

She also pointed out that if you’ve been struggling with restless sleep, the mirror and its energy could be to blame. The problem, she warns, can be even worse if the mirror is second-hand, as it could be holding onto energy from its previous owner.

She said: "Whatever happened within that person's home, we don't know if it's negative, is coming into your home."

Because of her work with spirits, Leah says she gets frequent calls from people about unwanted paranormal activity. And in many cases, she notices there’s a mirror in the bedroom — which she believes is the root cause of the disturbance.

To prevent these uninvited guests from showing up while you’re trying to sleep, Leah recommends a simple solution: cover the mirror.

She said: "What I suggest you do is you cover the mirror. You can keep it there, but cover the mirror with a cloth, blanket, whatever you want. Make sure you're doing protection prayers over that mirror, setting boundaries and you are also saging it. Please, I beg you, sage it."

The psychic added: "I'm doing this to protect you."

One TikTok user commented that they had been given this same warning since childhood, writing: "My nanny always said to NEVER have a mirror facing your bed!! If she ever went any where to stay for the night she would take it down or cover it up! Also you saying about a second had mirror, I was given one that my dad got from an auction, the bad vibes and distortion that happened when you looked in it were wild! I got rid of it (safely) as soon as I could!"

Another person backed up the advice, saying: "Don't get me started on this....She's absolutely correct, I had a horrifying experience last year and it STILL keeps me awake at night, it's not a joke, remove mirrors from bedroom even near your bed."

For Leah, and for plenty of others who’ve had unsettling experiences, it’s clear — that mirror might need to find a new home somewhere far from your bed.
