#1 These refreshingly honest tampon tins speak the truth about periods.

Little Things For Good's 'Tampon Tins That Tell It Like It Is' aim to revolutionize both the way you store your period supplies and the way you think about them. Because haven't we all had enough of the stigma around pads and tampons?

#2 Periods are messy.

Periods are one of those things that people with uteruses have to deal with, but are supposed to pretend we don't. There's nothing wrong with menstruation just so long as you don't talk about it and no one ever sees your tampon stash.

You can say Aunt Flo's coming to town all you like but that flow is actually a load of blood pouring from your womb in an attempt to ruin your nicest new undies.

Not only is the actual period itself a messy whirl of blood, cramps and emotions but it has the habit of creating havoc in your bag what with a load of loose tampons roaming wild.

#3 The fact that there aren’t many products out there to at least keep the bag side of things tidy is something that struck Lizzie Earl.

Earl said: ‘The most organised women I know all still use the same disorganized method for storing tampons loose in their bag.

‘The only other options were old fashioned containers that mask their real usage with horrible out-dated styles no woman I know would ever carry around in her bag.'

#4 She's not wrong..

A quick Google of the products around for storing tampons brings up a load of images of discreet floral tins that would fit right in on your granny's ornament shelf. Or, round tubes with various colors or designs on them, which are still a way of saying, "hey, I'm a tampon in here."

Which is very nice and all, but it's 2016 and we're not hiding the fact that nearly half the population menstruate once a month.

#5 So Earl decided to create a range of tampon tins that ‘tell it like it is’ for independent retailer Little Things For Good.

These tins are upfront and honest, declaring to the world that that having your period is nothing to be ashamed of. The words ‘there will be blood' and ‘crime scene in my pants' are emblazoned on these tins, which are anything but discreet.

#6 The sale of the tampon tins is also benefiting charity as well.

And not only do they declare that periods are fine to have (and the whole keeping your tampons neat and tidy thing), each sale also puts money towards charity. 15% of the proceeds goes to St Mungo's Broadway to help provide homeless women with sanitary products.

#7 All in all, they’re bloody brilliant.
