James Bond should only be played by men, according to Roger Moore's son.

Since Daniel Craig announced he would be leaving the iconic role after No Time to Die, speculation has been widespread about who will portray the illustrious British spy in the upcoming films.

Jaffa Moore has since added his opinion.

Jaffa was asked if a woman should ever inherit the part of 007, which his father played in a number of movies, including A View To Kill and Live And Let Die.

To which he told Express: “Well, then it’s no longer James Bond,”

“I mean, she could be 006, 008, or 009…”

And even though Lashana Lynch already had the renowned codename in No Time To Die, Jaffa still believes that it caused "confusion" among viewers.

“In the last Bond, I think this was the confusion. That she [Lashana’s character Nomi] was 007 and then said, ‘I’ve got to give it back to Bond. It’s his number,” he said.

However, Jaffa proposed that moviemakers create a female "Jane or Jemima Bond" character.

It's exactly like 1900, when women were eventually allowed to vote; how kind of you, thank you!

When asked if there were more women in action movies, he added: “If you look at Charlize Theron in Atomic Blonde… I mean, women can certainly pull it off and certainly do the fight sequences.”

However, please stay away from handing Theron a 007 swipe card at MI6; otherwise, Jaffa will go crazy.

Daniel Craig was also questioned about a female Bond role back in 2021.

He stated the following to Radio Times: “The answer to that is very simple. There should simply be better parts for women and actors of color.

“Why should a woman play James Bond when there should be a part just as good as James Bond, but for a woman?”

His response reflects those of producer Barbara Broccoli, who in 2019 said the following on Good Morning Britain: “We have to make movies about women and women’s stories but we have to create female characters and not just for a gimmick turn a male character into a woman.”

Who will handle that martini glass next has also been the subject of numerous rumors, with Lashana Lynch, Taron Egerton, and Tom Holland's names being mentioned.

The path that the franchise will take cannot be predicted in advance.
