The pair confirmed they are separating in a post on Instagram.
Sacha Baron Cohen and Isla Fisher have made the news with a personal update: they're going their separate ways.
Both of them took to their Instagram stories to let the world know that, in 2023, they made the mutual decision to divorce.
Their shared statement was clear-cut: "After a long tennis match lasting over twenty years, we are finally putting our racquets down."
"In 2023 we jointly filed to end our marriage. We have always prioritized our privacy, and have been quietly working through this change."
"We forever share in our devotion and love for our children. We sincerely appreciate your respecting our family's wish for privacy."
The couple's journey together spans over two decades, and it was 13 years ago when they said "I do."
Their love story began back at a Sydney bash in 2001, before they both shot to widespread acclaim with Borat and Wedding Crashers.
Their engagement came around in 2004, a full three years after they first crossed paths, with their first bundle of joy arriving another three years down the line.
After a six-year engagement, they finally exchanged vows in 2010.
Reflecting on their initial meeting in a 2020 chat with The New York Times, Baron Cohen reminisced: "She was hilarious."
"We were at a very pretentious party, and me and her bonded over taking the mick out of the other people in the party."
"I knew instantly. I don't know if she did."
Fisher has always been vocal about the value they place on family privacy.
Speaking with The Australian Women's Weekly, she shared:
"I get nervous talking about it because I feel like, by not having my relationship in the public domain and not having spoken about how we met or really talked about our marriage publicly, it's remained something private and valuable to me."
"But having a shared ability to find humor in the sharpness of life is always going to bring connection. And, otherwise, I just think it's nice to keep some things for yourself."
The couple has kept mum on the specific reasons for their split in their online announcements.
In their post, there's a photo of them decked out in tennis gear, with the heartfelt message off to the side.
They're parents to three kids: Olive, who's 17, Elula, 13, and their youngest, Montgomery, who's 9.
The split happened away from the public eye in 2023, and it was notable when they appeared at the Oscars last month, each flying solo.
