Spanning an expanse of 500,000 square kilometers in the North Atlantic Ocean, this region has often been held responsible for the disappearance of numerous planes and the sinking of hundreds of ships.

Between 1945 and 2017, there have been approximately ten documented instances in which aircraft have gone missing within this region.

Across the extensive span from 1800 to 2015, a significant duration, there have been around fourteen reported maritime incidents involving the unexplained disappearance of numerous individuals aboard various ships.

Despite numerous theories that have emerged over the years, the true cause has remained elusive.

While certain conspiracy theorists frequently attribute supernatural influences as a potential rationale, it appears that the documentary "Secrets of the Bermuda Triangle" by Channel 5 might finally provide the sought-after explanations.

Regarding the documentary, Nick Hutchings, a mineral prospector, commented, "In reference to Bermuda, we're essentially looking at a submerged mountain, an underwater volcano, to be precise. About 30 million years ago, it existed above the ocean's surface."

“It has now eroded away and we’re left with the top of a volcano.

“We have a few core samples, which have magnetite in them. It’s the most magnetic naturally occurring material on Earth.”

Subsequently, Hutchings proceeded to perform an experiment involving a rock sample and a compass.

Upon positioning the rock on a level surface, the compass was passed over it, resulting in a significantly erratic movement of the needle.

This occurrence is not attributable to supernatural powers; rather, it is a consequence of the presence of magnetite within the rocks, rendering the compass inoperable.

“You can just imagine the ancient mariners sailing past Bermuda. It would be very disconcerting,” Hutchings explained.

In essence, the explanation is straightforward: individuals became disoriented and lost their way.

However, for those who remain unconvinced by his explanation, an alternative theory is available.

A filmmaker and YouTuber named Harris has proposed a notably simpler interpretation.

Using the video-sharing platform as a medium, he elaborated on the requirement for an approach grounded in data when addressing the enigmatic expanse.

He said: "Humans have developed an amazing tool for seeing reality... we can collect hundreds, thousands or hundreds of thousands of observations about the world and they don't have to fit in our brains all at once because we can record them over time."

"If you did that you would see that of the tens of thousands of recorded accidents or casualties at sea recorded over the course of 20 years, there wasn't anything out of the ordinary here," he explained.

Subsequently, Harris arrives at the audacious conclusion that the region is, in fact, devoid of danger, attributing this assessment to the scarcity of occurrences over an extended duration.

So, that's the explanation, unless you're still leaning towards blaming aliens.
