No one likes airport security. It's like the rules your parents put in place to keep you safe, but instead it has you questioning why life is so unfair and suspiciously selective with their random searches. Popular YouTube comedian Jasmeet Singh, better known as Jus Reign, is a Sikh and travels often, once or twice a month, by plane. Until recently, he has never been asked to remove his turban when going through security, but that has all changed.

#1 Jus Reign was in a San Francisco airport.
His trip through security included a body scan, metal detectors, and a swab test to test for traces of explosives. Then he was taken into a private room for "an extra screening". There he was patted down and an officer told him to remove his turban so they could check it as well. Jus asked if they could simply pat it down but was told no, so he asked to speak to a manager.
#2 The manager gave him two choices.
"She was like... 'You can take your turban off and we check and we'll let you go to your flight or you can keep it on and we'll just walk you out to the public space and you can book a flight with someone else or go to another airport.'" So he took off his turban. They x-rayed it and found nothing.

#3 Jus asked them for a mirror to put his turban back on and was told there weren't any.
"They [said] 'We don't have mirrors and we don't necessarily provide mirrors for that kind of stuff so sorry' ... It's not like a hat issue where I can just flop it on. I gotta make sure it looks crisp, it's right, all the angles are neatly lined up, you know... I gotta look good." He was told to go to the bathroom and use the mirrors in there.
#4 Jus's turban holds huge cultural significance for Sikhs.
"It represents dignity and courage," and he said being asked to remove it is like asking someone to remove their underwear. "It's that same level of humiliation and embarrassment."
"It was really not cool of [them] to say that. Especially them taking me into a private screening room and undressing me and telling me in order for me to... dress myself again, I gotta walk out in a public space without my turban."

#5 Jus says that as "a brown man going through airports" he is screened more.
"There's never been a case where anybody has ever hidden anything in their turban."

#6 Jus isn't staying quiet about what happened.
Feeling so disrespected has fueled him to stand up and speak about the issue, giving multiple interviews to the media about what happened.

#7 TSA hasn't reached out to Jus.
He said he will be filing a complaint about their disrespect despite him cooperating with them.
