She Inherited This Mysterious Chest... And What She Found Inside Was The Last Thing She Expected

#1 Long Lost Relative

She inherited this old house when an attorney sent her papers telling her that a distant relative of her mothers had passed away and had left no will. She was the only family member still alive, though she had no idea who the relative was. Instantly she thought she had inherited something of value until the attorney explained that she would need to pay all the past taxes and fees on the house and land. She and her boyfriend decided to take a trip to the house to see what they had been handed.

#2 A Mysterious Box

When the two arrived they found a dilapidated house that was barely standing in the overgrown field. Windows were boarded up, the steps were rotting, and there were no electrical lines going from the road to the house. Her dreams of having come into a windfall were instantly dashed. The house was practically bare aside from a few rotting boxes of junk and some odd furniture. That was until they made it to the third floor after nearly falling through the stairs, where they discovered a mysterious locked box.

#3 A Dozen Odd Keys

After her boyfriend discovered a dozen old keys scattered on the windowsill they decided that the mysterious box could be holding their fortune if they could just get it open. Or perhaps the box itself was worth something of value? They fumbled around with the box and the keys for over two hours but it would not open.

#4 The Magic Key

Finally, she noticed one key by itself, lying in the corner of the huge, dusty old room. She inserted the key and turned it. The lock popped open and the box was now ready to discover. She shook it first, before lifting the lid, and heard rattling. There was something inside. Hopefully, it was money, or stocks, bonds, a deed to something valuable, she could barely contain her enthusiasm.

#5 Disappointed Or A Hidden Clue

Dismayed, there was no fortune inside. All they found in the box was a few old coins and a photograph. The coins were foreign and they had no idea what country they were from, but the dates on them were from the 1930's. But what was the photograph? Could it be the clue to a great hidden fortune?

#6 Baa!

Nope! It was just a picture of an exceptionally photogenic sheep.

#7 Priceless Photograph

That photo is priceless for sure but hardly valuable. While they must have been a little bit disappointed, you have to admit it was pretty dang funny! They sold the property for $1,000 at auction, the same amount it had cost them to go to the house and find the box and photograph.
