#1 It all started with an Instagram post.

Kayla was enjoying a laid back afternoon with her family telling stories and sharing laughs. She snapped this candid photo and shared it to Instagram and Pintrest. She was happy to capture this beautiful moment she was sharing with her grandmother, Phyllis.

#2 She followed a link through Pinterest and was not happy with what she found.

When she clicked through her own picture she found on Pintrest and was shocked to see that it was linked to a blog in the UK about "yoga face lifts."

#3 When she got to the blog she was not happy with what she saw.

She began to look through the blog was upset at the fact that the image she felt so loving captured her relationship with her grandmother was being used without her permission and for something she had never heard of.

#4 She decided to do some more digging.

Kayla used the photo on the website and reversed searched it through Google Images. There were articles all over Pintrest promoting services neither Kayla or her grandmother knew of.

#5 Upon investigation things seemed to get worse.

As she was doing her research she noticed that they had also posted a picture next to hers. The young girl was at least ten years younger than Kayla and they were using the comparison to sell DIY face lifts.

#6 She tried reverse searching the girl as well.

But it brought up no real results. To this day, Kayla still hasn't been able to track the girl down. However, she saw that like her own face, it was now all over the internet attached to different things.

#7 She decided to see what her rights were.

She needed to know what the rules for intellectual property were. In her own article she sited lawyers and various articles only to draw the conclusion that most share: these are murky waters.

#10 Kayla and her grandmother are staying positive.

While Kayla says that for a case like hers taking legal action wouldn't pan out she's eager to share two important messages. First, be careful what you post and don't turn out like she did with a problem she wasn't even aware of. Secondly, remember that laugh lines and wrinkles are something to be proud of.
