#1 This is about Rosalia Lombardo (1918 in Palermo, Italy – December 6, 1920)

Nearly 100 years ago, a 2-year-old Italian girl named Rosalia Lombardo died of pneumonia.

#2 The mystery behind the “World’s Most Beautiful Mummy” and see what a father’s love can do.

Rosalia's father, Official Mario Lombardo, was sorely grieved upon her death, so he approached Alfredo Salafia, a noted embalmer, to preserve her.

#3 This mystery took place because of Salafia's embalming techniques.

Rosalia's father was so devastated upon her death that he approached Alfredo Salafia, a noted embalmer, to preserve her. Her body was one of the last corpses to be admitted to the Capuchin catacombs of Palermo in Sicily and it's one of the best preserved bodies in the catacombs.

#4 A 2009 National Geographic photograph of Rosalia Lombardo shows the mummy is beginning to show signs of decomposition, most notably discoloration.

To address these issues the mummy was moved to a drier spot in the catacombs, and her original coffin was placed in a hermetically sealed glass enclosure with nitrogen gas to prevent decay. The mummy is one of the best preserved bodies in the catacombs.

#5 The only part of that makes Rosalia’s story so bizarre

Visitors of the catacombs have reported that her eyes appear to open and close. People are divided as to the explanation, and I myself don't know what to think. It definitely looks like her eyes are closed in one picture and open in the next.

#6 Watch the video below you’ll see a timelapse of what’s either an anomaly, or an optical illusion

There is really no impossible thing especially to those who believe. Even though this is kinda scary.
