Life as a single parent is difficult, especially in this day and age. Aside from the limitation of having only one mind and body to take on all parental duties, many are often worried that their child may grow up with some deficiency due to a mother or father figure not being present in their life. An unfounded fear, but a fear nonetheless.

Single parents often find themselves playing both roles, and Yevette Vasquez of Texas took that to heart when dropping her son off to school on September 1st

She noticed that there were an unusual number of cars in the school parking lot that morning, and her son, Elijah, eventually told her that it was packed because of the Donuts with Dad breakfast event they were holding that morning.

With Elijah's father out of their lives, Yevette came up with a plan on the spot so her son wouldn't miss out on the event. They turned around and headed home, where she changed into a plaid shirt, Rangers baseball cap, chain, mustache, and she topped it all off with a spritz of cologne.

On Facebook, she explained the reasoning behind the move, stating that she knew it was difficult for her son to see other children with their fathers there while he didn't have one. She shared several pictures of them together on the post, and continued, "At least I can do whatever it takes to put a smile on that face."

Yevette told Fox 4 that she was very nervous when she walked into the school dressed as a man, but she's glad she did. She has received an overwhelming amount of support online and was thanked by many other single parents nationwide that heard what she did for her son.
