You will never truly understand what it's like to be a single mother until you're put in that position. For Alishia Poss, the struggle was harder than it is for most since she had not one or two children to care for, but FIVE.

While she worked a full-time job, she was still struggling to pay the rent and get food for her kids. It was then that she decided it was time to reach out and ask for help.

She had heard about Operation Blessing before and knew that they helped people in the community. The project was partnered with a local grocery store and was donating food to those truly in need, just like she was.

After she had contacted them, she was shocked to see just how quickly they sprang into action. Before long, there were people there to help her out. "They came out with this huge wheelbarrow just overloaded with food, with meats, vegetables, and sweets for the kids," she later explained.

Since she no longer had to deal with the burden of buying food for a six-person home, she was able to find the money and pay the rent that she owed. With the ongoing support of the project, she was also able to find a better paying job. Now, she is able to support her children and make the most of her time with them rather than worrying about bills and the rent.

It must be a massive relief!

Now that she gets to spend quality time with her kids, it really has changed her entire life, and all thanks to the kindness of some supportive volunteers from the project.

"I'll help my oldest with his homework. Me and my boys for fun sometimes we go to the park, and we'll watch a movie and sing to Frozen we go to the park and we'll chase each other and swing around," explains Alishia.
