Spooky footage which appears to show the Earth breathing has left baffled social media users searching for an explanation.
The bizarre clip captures the moment the ground rises and falls as wind blows though the trees and leaves in the forest area .
The video was uploaded to Facebook on November 1 by Brian Nuttall and has been liked more than 13,500 times.
It is thought the clip was captured in Nova Scotia, Canada.
#2 Baffled: Social media users suggested the ground movement could be due to excess water
One social media user thought the freaky phenomenon could be a result of rain water running underneath the moss.
Another suggested that the wind could be moving the weakened or dead roots of surrounding trees, causing the moss to lift and fall.
Other were simply stunned by the video, writing: "Why is it doing that?? Is it because the wind was moving the trees and roots??
