Student Completes College Exam From Hospital Bed While In Labor

Nayzia Thomas shared a photo on On Dec. 12 that her mother took off her cranking out the last of her final exams, she was propped up in a hospital bed, in a gown, about to welcome her child into the world.

Thomas continued attending classes at Johnson County Community College in Kansas City. Despite learning about her pregnancy, she never once thought of dropping out and she continued attending classes up until her 39th week of pregnancy.

The hardworking student said though the dissociative identity project for her major’s final wasn’t yet due until later that week, she was determined to complete the assignment on time and avoid an "incomplete" grade.

She wrote:

"It wasn’t due until the end of the week — finals week is Dec. 11 to tomorrow — but my goal was to try to have everything done before [the baby came].

[I thought,] before all this gets crazy let me hurry up and finish this final."

With over 103,000 likes, 20,000 retweets and 250 supportive messages soon rolling in on Thomas' post, the Twitterverse had nothing but laudatory messages for the new mom.

The new mom later updated her followers, sharing how she lost a lot of blood during her delivery. She said she was so scared for her and her baby but with the help of her fiancée, everything went well.

"Update: on 12/12/17 we had a healthy baby boy. However, I experienced major blood loss & my body went into shock post-delivery. It was very scary, but his father was right there to take over when I went unconscious. We are blessed! AND I'm finishing the semester w/ a 3.5 GPA!"

After getting a final blood transfusion, Nayzia and her little family were already able to go home last Friday.

"Last update: got a blood transfusion b/c of all the blood loss & we finally headed home today! Thanks to everyone again for the positivity and love. Its been hard trying to cope with being so close to death, but I can't thank God enough for being able to share my story!! 💓🙏🏾"

Nayzia has been bossing her pregnancy since she found out she was going to be a mum,

holding down full-time studies, three jobs and interning at an attorney’s office…
