According to fire officials, a high school student from Texas caused six of his classmates to be hospitalized by releasing an extremely foul-smelling "fart spray."
Student Lets Off Fart Spray That Was So Disgusting It Sent Several People To Hospital
A Texas high school was subjected to an extremely offensive stink spray, which led to the hospitalization of numerous students.
According to PEOPLE, Caney Creek High School Principal Jeff Stichle acknowledged that authorities had looked into the school following the placement of a "highly concentrated, prank, stink spray called Hensgaukt Fart Spray."
A memo that KHOU-11 was able to obtain states that the school was shut down so that authorities could investigate after the unpleasant smell spread around campus.
“Caney Creek HS will not have school tomorrow, Friday, May 5th, to allow the contractors to continue their investigation into the source. Just as we have throughout this situation, we will update you as we know more,” it read.
That is one method of taking the day off, I suppose.
Six students were taken to a hospital after complaining of headaches caused by the scent, according to Caney Creek Fire Chief Raymond Flannelly, who also stated that it was unclear how serious the students' conditions were at the time.
Students and employees had to be quickly evacuated from school due to a gas smell that was said to have been released nearby the cafeteria.
Since this stank was so horrible, I'm experiencing dizziness.
A short while later, maintenance employees from Conroe ISD and Caney Creek Fire Department showed up to look into the source of the smell.
Staff members searched for the source of the scent, but they were unsuccessful.
Firefighters "checked the entire building with gas detection equipment and were unable to locate any signs of gas," Caney Creek Fire Chief Raymond Flannelly told PEOPLE.
The next day, classes resumed, but again, staff members were contacted to look into the scent.
In order to help identify the source of the "concerning odor" this time, fire marshals and a HAZMAT team were dispatched to the school. Unfortunately, they were unable to do so.
"They went through the building from top to bottom," Flannelly told KHOU-11.
"These Hazmat teams are professionals, they know a lot about different types of gases, and their meters picked up nothing as well. So, it's a mystery."
While the source of the scent has not yet been identified, Chief Flannelly has issued a warning to the student(s) responsible for the stupid prank.
"We hope it's not because I promise you, they will be held accountable," Flannelly said.
