#1 Earbuds

Sharing earbuds is a very common practice, but they can carry plenty of bacteria from the ears. Bacteria such as staph and strep can stay in your earwax, which can easily be transferred from person to person through earbuds.

#2 Nail Clippers

Both warts and fungus can linger on our fingers and toes. These are two things we definitely do not want to spread.

#3 Deodorant

Before you pass your friend some D.O. for their B.O., keep in mind that sharing deodorant can transfer infection-causing germs, especially if you have cuts or ingrown hairs in your armpit.

#4 Toothpaste

It's a known law of hygiene that sharing a toothbrush is an absolute no-no, but what about sharing toothpaste? Plenty of households and apartments share a single tube of toothpaste. However, the tube may contain bacteria from constantly being rubbed against different toothbrushes.

#5 Tweezers

Simply tweezing some hairs with someone else's tweezer isn't going to send you to the E.R., but when you consider the fact that we use tweezers to pick at splinters and ingrown hairs, transferring blood-borne diseases becomes a factor.

#6 Lip Balm

On a cold winter day, when you're pretty sure your lips might actually fall off from dryness, you're willing to borrow some lip balm from practically anybody. Don't. Sharing lip balm can cause a number of health issues, including the Herpes simplex virus.

#7 Lotion

If you plan on sharing lotion from a tube, share away. Dipping your fingers into someone's jar of lotion, however, can cause the spread of bacteria.

#8 Mascara

After forgetting your makeup at home, you're probably really tempted to borrow your friend's mascara. Sharing eye makeup, however, can lead to the spread of infections, such as pink eye.

#9 Earrings

As beautiful as your friend's new costume earrings are, don't borrow them! When you insert an earring through your ear, a break may be made in the skin. This can allow viruses to be transferred between the two people who are sharing the earring.

#10 Drinks

Your mom always told you never to share drinks with your friends, and she was right. Sharing drinks causes an exchange of saliva, which can lead to the swapping of germs that cause all types of illnesses.

#11 Hair Brushes

Sharing brushes, or anything that touches our hair, can cause the spread of head lice.

#12 Soap Bars

Soaps bars harbor organisms from each user's skin, making it easy to transfer bacteria, fungus, and viruses between all who use it.

#13 Razors

It may seem like a good idea to borrow a friend's razor in an act of desperation, but razors collect dead skin cells and bacteria. This can lead to the transfer of diseases, such as hepatitis and HIV.

#14 Pumice Stones

Despite what salons would have you believe, pumice stones can transmit fungus and warts.

#15 Towels

It seems like no big deal to share a towel with a friend or family member, but towels hold plenty of germs. Sharing a towel can transmit things such as acne-causing bacteria and fungal infections.
