Who does not love tacos? All of that meat, cheese, salsa, and tons of sour cream...Makes me drool just thinking about having one. The only thing better than eating a taco is being warm while enjoying one. The owner of this taco shop thought the exact same thing. He is encouraging his employees and customers to give back during this winter season by having them donate coats for the homeless.
Taco Shop Owner Collects And Passes Out Coats For The Homeless
Just because Christmas is over, does not mean that the spirit of giving should go away. Emilia Flores is the owner of The Taco Stop in Dallas, Texas. The place is known for their utterly ridiculous tacos and their endless compassion.
Last winter, Emilia began offering coats for the homeless who are around her taco shop. She had seen similar places around her city doing something like this, and she decided that she wanted to partake in it too.
Lots of people have stopped by in order to donate coats that they no longer wear in order for them to be given to the less fortunate who are in desperate need of something warm to bundle up in. This is Thomas. He is a retired Marine, and one of many, who donated to this cause.
"I can just see somebody walking around in that," he said. Not too long after Thomas donated one of these coats, it was picked up by a construction worker who was in need.
Emilia says that her set up is a perfect way for people to come get the winter coats that they so desperately need without being embarrassed about it. People are able to just walk up, pick out what they need, and leave.
It is always heartwarming to see people do things like this. Giving back to your community is good for your soul and brings around good karma not to mention how much it helps the people who most have given up on.
