Tattoos On Wheels: This Artist Does Tattoos In Cornwall From Her Van

Constance Cook is a fully licensed tattoo artist and registered with the Cornwall Council. What makes her unique is the fact that she runs her tattoo business right from her van.

Spending most of her holidays in Cornwall, Cook decided to bring her work along with her.

“I am a tattoo artist and have driven down in my mobile studio, which is registered with Cornwall Council and fully licenced so I can work whilst down here.

“It is quirky as most tattoo artists work from shops and I also offering ear piercing.”

“I’ve been having tattoos for quite a few years and work in a school so am able to come down most holidays.”

After completing her apprenticeship in Yorkshire she met with a woman at a campsite that shared a similar dream.

“We were talking about studios and I wanted a way I could get to people. I bought a welfare van and converted it all, one step at a time whilst following health guidance to create a hygienic studio."

“I registered with Wakefield council and decided why not register in Cornwall and do it here too.”

Constance is one of the very few tattoo artists in the UK offering this quirky service.

“As far as I’m aware there are only a few other tattoo artists in the country working this way. I spoke to other tattoo artists who said it would be too difficult. I nearly got put off but in the end it made me more strong willed.”

“I’ve been a tattoo artist for a year now but an artist for a decade. I’m offering bespoke designs because I draw the designs people have a unique tattoo. It is on their skin for life so I always try and create something beautiful. I only charge from when I start the treatment so the consultation and design stages are free.”

Not only does she offer tattoos from her van, her mobility allows her to reach people within a 25 mile radius.

“I absolutely love Cornwall and am trying to build a client base for when I’m down here.”
