According to Dallas police, after being caught robbing six businesses in less than an hour, the 19-year-old hugged and apologized to his first victim.
Joshua Mora allegedly went on to loot six businesses in Northeast Dallas, according to police.
One of the victims, held at gunpoint, took images of the automobile Mora is accused of driving and reported it to the authorities.
The 19-year-old is being held in the Dallas County prison on several aggravated robbery charges.
According to FOX4, Mora employed identical strategies at each of the six locations: he pulled out a weapon, demanded money, and fled in a couple of minutes.
Isiaka Balogoa returned to work on Friday, only 24 hours after being robbed.
He recalled:
"I was standing right here. And I just grabbed some the money and gave it to him."
While being held at gunpoint, the EZ Shop employee claims his children were the first things that came to mind.
He said:
"I was just like, you can take whatever you want."
Balogoa was important in helping Dallas cops apprehend Mora during a rumored six-stop criminal spree that netted him about $2,000 in cash.
Mora was wearing the same outfit at all six places, according to Dallas police: a pink bucket hat, a dark Vans sweatshirt, dark jeans, and white Crocs.
Mora's first stop, according to Dallas police, was a Walgreens at the junction of Royal and Abrams at 8:42 a.m. He took out a black semi-automatic weapon and demanded money from an employee in less than five minutes.
Before leaving, Mora is said to have hugged the employee and apologized.
According to authorities, Mora was spotted on camera entering the 7-Eleven next door at 8:50 a.m..
According to authorities, Mora drove across the street to the EZ Shop at 9:14 a.m., where he met Balogoa.
According to FOX4, Balogoa recalled:
"He come in front of me, pulled the gun out and said, ‘Give me the money.’ And I said, ‘I don’t have the money. The money is in the ATM.’ We talk a few minutes. He says, ‘I am not going to hurt you. Just give me the money."
Balogoa says he handed mora $180 and then took a big sigh of relief.
He said:
"I run over there and took the pictures of the license."
While on the line with 911, the EZ Shop employee snapped photos on his phone, catching a vehicle description and a clear shot of the license plate.
In the meantime, police say Mora targeted three more businesses.
He allegedly held a female employee at gunpoint inside a 7-Eleven between Abrams and Skillman around 9:22 a.m., according to police.
Mora was seen entering a vape store in the same strip mall four minutes later.
Finally, at 9:42 a.m., he robbed a neighboring Quik Trip, according to authorities.
Officers noticed the man and his car shortly after the last heist. Mora was apprehended following a brief pursuit.
Mora matched the suspect's description, according to police, and a handgun was discovered in his truck. According to CBS News, he has been charged with aggravated robbery and is being detained at the Dallas County Jail. The amount of his bond was set at $100,000.
There were no injuries recorded.
