Teenager Was Still Alive As Boyfriend Started To Cut Off Her Head

Aras Hussein, 21, began to decapitate his 18-year-old girlfriend Reema Ramzan with a kitchen knife while she was still alive.

He then stabbed himself in the chest before removing his clothes and entering his flat in Shirecliffe, Sheffield.

When he was being taken to an ambulance he told paramedics: "I killed somebody and I need to die" and "why are you helping me? I have just murdered somebody".

Investigator said:

"I have read the personal statements of Reema's mother and her brother, which set out in clear and moving terms the devastating effect upon them of Reema's death and the shocking and distressing way she was killed."

The court heard that Hussein had been violent and controlling during their their relationship.
