Tenant Claims Property Manager ‘Degraded’ Him Because He’s A Man

In this world when it’s landlord/building administration vs tenant, people will 99% of the time side with the tenant. This tenant however proved us wrong by being part of that 1%.

A property manager, Leiaa (@princessleiaa7) posted this now-viral video to TikTok where she can be seen speaking with a tenant regarding late fees on their rent. The camera shows Leia throughout the video and we can only hear the tenant’s voice.

He can be heard asking for her to remove the late fees from his account. Leia calmly tries to explain that she can't do that since they’ve already done so twice. “We can’t just keep waving your late fee,”

The two keep going back and forth on the issue with the tenant claiming that since the rent is paid, the fees should not apply.

Leia tries to explain that since the rent has been late every time, she can no longer make further accommodations.

He then accuses her of using a ‘tone’. Leia immediately shifts gear and apologizes, trying to take a gentler approach.

This further enrages the man who points out the ‘tone’ once again.

The video then jumps ahead with Leia saying, This is about the rent, not really about my occupation.” 

The tenant immediately becomes hostile and says, “Hey, jack*ss, I don’t wanna talk about your occupation. I’m talking about me paying the rent. But women. Y’all women. That’s the issue with y’all women. Y’all women always try to degrade a man. I am a grown man.”

This sudden burst of anger and accusatory tone had Leia shocked and she realized that her gentle tone would no longer work with this tenant. 

She tells him not to speak with her that way and points out that he is about to get evicted.

The man then threatened her and said that he should leave otherwise he’d do something.

Leia stands her ground and brings her purse closer to herself.

He keeps screaming at her as he walks away and Leia retorts, “Pay your rent if you a grown man.”

Commenters were on Leia’s side through and through. “She really tried to stay professional but he tried her!”

Another added, “There was no tone..” 

Leia added a disclaimer in the video that this was in fact a skit for educational purposes and to that we say, we didn’t learn anything and wish we’d known that sooner.
