The 46-year-old wife of a Texas assistant fire chief was arrested after allegedly driving to her local police station and leaving around 50 pounds of "human shit" in front of the station and refusing to pick it up.
Texas Fire Chief’s Wife Dumps 50 Pounds Of Human Feces Outside Police Station
Mindy Janette Stephens, 46, the wife of an assistant fire chief, is accused of dumping around 50 pounds of "human s-t" in front of the Electra Police Department last week, according to KXAN.
On Thursday, a police officer observed a suspicious deposit in front of the station on East Cleveland Avenue, according to authorities.
“He went outside to see what was going on and discovered three, 5-gallon buckets of what appeared to be human waste,” an affidavit posted by Law & Crime states.
The officer also observed a person wearing a hazmat suit and a yellow mask walking to an SUV with a trailer.
“He attempted to ask what they were doing and a female stated that the buckets were human s— and she was dropping them off. She then got in the vehicle and drove off,” the affidavit says.
According to officials, a police lieutenant watched the security tape and recognized Stephens' voice.
The woman is the wife of the assistant fire chief, according to Police Chief Terry Wooten, who called City Administrator Steve Bowlin about the unpleasant matter.
Bowlin, a local firefighter, allegedly informed Wooten that he would make a scene with Stephens and tell her to "come to pick up the buckets or face charges."
According to the affidavit, the woman refused to clean up her mess and claimed it was "not her problem."
Stephens was then charged with criminal illegal dumping of more than 5 pounds but less than 500 pounds, a violation of the Texas Health and Safety Code.
She was released on a $2,000 bond on Friday.
Stephens was charged with aggravated assault in 2020 after reportedly assaulting a guy with a set of keys.
She reportedly pleaded guilty to the lesser charge of assault last year and served a brief prison sentence.
The cause of the recent smelly incident was unknown.
