#1 Father and son traveled through 9 countries to seek asylum from terrorism in Pakistan.

Freidon traveled with his son through Pakistan, Iran, Turkey, the Islands of Greece, Serbia, Croatia, Hungary, Austria and Germany. While crossing from Turkey to the Islands of Greece the dingie sank and he and the other 35 migrants had to swim towards the shore. Since then, his son is sick and has problems with his lungs.
#2 Pregnant and afraid, 22 year old woman traveled from Iraq to seek peace. They hid inside a water tank.
22-year-old Hind Almahdawi from Bagdad, Iraq, poses together with her 25-day-old daughter, Angela (named after Angela Merkel) inside a refugee camp in Sarstedt, November 4, in Sarstedt, Germany. Hind was pregnant during her journey together with her husband Ali Mohammad (35) and her son Mostafa Ali (4). The family hid inside a water tank of a general cargo vessel and arrived in Istanbul 2 weeks later. The family did not want to tell, where they had boarded the vessel, they are too scared of the smugglers. From Mermaid, Turkey they crossed the sea by a dinghie, the journey took 10 hours, from Kos they reached a ferry to Athens, by bus into Macedonia and Serbia. In Serbia they bought train tickets for 25⬠each to cross into Croatia and Hungary. Another train brought them towards Austria. And while inside a train from Passau to Hanover, Hind's childbirth pains started and 21 hours later Angela was born.

Mohamadi made his journey in 30 days, travelling through Iran, Turkey, and by a small boat towards Greece, continuing his journey by foot to Macedonia and Serbia, and finally by train through Hungary into Austria and on to Germany. "I left because of the War, the Taliban in Afghanistan. It is an unstable and unsafe country - I want a safe life."

"At night the Taliban fight against the Afghan forces, during daylight the Afghan Forces fight against the Taliban. We were always in the middle between the frontline. Afghanistan is not a safe country, here in Germany we have a voice. I pray for better education for my children."

Bagour has lost his right leg due to a bacillus infection 6 years ago, he struggled with his journey to Germany, as he had to stay 5 months at a refugee camp at the Turkish/Iranian border, but then made his way to Kos, Greece by a dinghy and reached a ferry to Athens in Greece. From Greece he was brought by bus to the Macedonian border, from there he marched 15 kilometers alone with other refugees as he approached the Serbian border. From Serbia to Slovenia by train, by Bus into Austria and towards the border of Germany. He finally was brought by train into Hanover, where he now lives in the refugee camp in Sarstedt. "Germany is famous for its help among people from my country."
#9 57 year old Afghan asylum seeker traveled in a tiny boat to Iran, where he took over 23 days to reach the German refugee camps.

#10 Pakistanian traveled alone to start his life over in Germany.

Sayed traveled through Pakistan, Iran, Turkey, the Islands of Greece, Serbia, Croatia, Hungary, Austria and Germany. "I have traveled alone, no children, no wife, I want to start a new life in Germany. Alone."
#11 Palestinian man who arrived from the middle east is being housed in a camp at the German border that houses over 1,500 other peace seeking refugees.

Wael traveled 50 days through Syria, Turkey, the Islands of Greece, Serbia, Croatia, Hungary, Austria and Germany. "I want a safe future for my kids, I want education for them. We want to be registered here in Germany and stay."
#12 Afghanistan family traveled to Germany in a rough 2 month trek to escape the rise of the Taliban in their country.

He traveled together with his wife Sima (23) and the youngest son Amir (9 months) for two months from Afghanistan to Iran, Turkey, to the Islands of Greece, further to Macedonia, Serbia, Croatia Austria and Germany.
