The People Everyone Looks Up On Facebook

#1 Forgotten Family

Hey, remember that Thanksgiving you spent hiding from your crazy family with your cousin.... whatever happened to them? Families drift. You've lost touch and that's the moment you pull a Supergirl and go looking for your cousin/ex-stepsibling/whoever it is. Sometimes you pull them up on Facebook, look at their profile and go "Oh yeah, that's why I don't talk to them anymore," and sometimes you send them the reconnect message.

#2 The New Roomie!

Sometimes, we need roommates. Living together helps people out socially and financially, yet we can't let just anyone into our home. After all they may be a psycho, a serial killer or worse yet, have a different opinion on politics!!

#3 Your BFF's New Squeeze

Best friends are rare and amazing people so we tend to get a tad bit protective of them, some more so than others. So we have to check out anyone that could potentially hurt them.

#4 The "New Guy"

Whenever someone new enters our social dynamic, our curiosity gets a hold of us. Does this person like what I do? Are they who they say they are? Are they going to go postal? Facebook gives us a quick way to judge these things without the pesky process of actually talking to them!

#5 Old Classmates

Remember those first days of school, back before Facebook even existed (or even just before you knew about it)? Back then you had classmates you went to school with, some good and some bad. Apparently, one of favorite past times is seeing where they are now. Are they still sniffing glue? Did that one kid figure out how to shower and brush their teeth? These are the important questions in life.

#6 Your Replacement

Sometimes, we just have trouble letting go and have a perverse instinct to compare ourselves to our ex's new significant other. The validation of the other person being unable to measure up to you can help to ease some of the pain though.

#7 The Crush Who Didn't Know You Existed

It's not just a girly thing. We've all had our distanced, unrequited loves. Sometimes we like to just look and see how the person has changed over time.

#8 Your First Love

No, not your first crush. The first person who actually liked you back. You were young and nothing makes things rosier than time. Nostalgia beckons you to look them up.

#9 Your Childhood Friend That Moved Away

We don't get to choose where we live when young. Sometimes, we have to move away from the friends that helped to mold us into who we are. Facebook at least lets you have a chance at talking to them again. Who knows, sometimes, it's just like old times.
