Remember in your childhood days your parents used to tell you don’t swallow the gum? They must have told you horrifying stories about people who swallowed chewing gums and that remained in their guts for like seven years. YESS!...Seven years is a long time for that gum to stay in your stomach if you ever swallow the gum.We are sure that some parents must have gone as far as to tell thier children that they may have a gum tree in their stomach after those horrifying seven years but guess what, it was all just a myth!

It has been scientifically proven that gum doesn’t stick to the stomach or grow into a tree. However, there was one incident when physicians operated on  ‘taffy-like trail’ boy who underwent gum removal procedure when he was just 4 years old. The physicians speculate that the gum might have stayed in his tract for seven years. Probably this is where the seven year myth came from!
