Chumbawamba - "Tub-Thumping"

This band was actually around for a long time before their hit "Tub-Thumping" was everywhere. The group had a weird history as some sort of punk rock collective. Even though they have not made a hit since, we still love this song.

Jimmy Ray - "Are You Jimmy Ray?"

I think we all had to ask ourselves one question after hearing the title of this song: "Who the hell is Jimmy Ray?" This song and accompanying video had all the edge and danger of a 50s diner.

Jennifer Paige - "Crush"

Paige's love song was a massive hit, and it appeared that she was primed to become the next teen pop sensation. However, Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera quickly blew her out of the water. It really is too bad because this was such a great song.

Semisonic - "Closing Time"

You can still hear this song playing in bars all over the world even though the song is about a birth and not the bar closing down. It is still one of my favorites.

Pras - "Ghetto Superstar (This Is What You Are)"

Pras broke from The Fugees to make this massive hit with Mya and Ol' Dirty Bastard. The song is still loved today, but sadly, this was Pras' only hit while out on his own.

New Radicals - "You Get What You Give"

Back in the days where pop-punk talked shit about other artists just as much as rap did, New Radicals delivered this catchy tune whose video takes place in the most 90s of malls. Good stuff.

Next - "Too Close"

This was probably the funniest and sexiest songs made about dance floor erections. This song was such a hit that it was sad that all of the singers did not get any bigger than they did with this song.

Alana Davis - "32 Flavors"

If your first hit as an artist is a cover song, it doesn't always indicate that great things are coming your way as far as your career goes. Sadly, that was the case with Alana Davis' cover of this Ani DiFranco song.

Marcy Playground - "Sex And Candy"

This was one of the weirdest, nonsensical songs that got popular in the 90s, and that is really saying something. There were some super weird songs made in this decade. However, we still have a soft spot for this particular song.

The Verve - "Bitter Sweet Symphony"

This song was made widely popular by being on the soundtrack for the movie Cruel Intentions. That opening string section, whether you love it or hate it, was utterly phenomenal.
