These bears were all held at Black Forest Bear Park, Georgia in concrete pits. A life of misery beckoned.

They used to beg for apples from tourists and it was all very bleak. They showed signs of severe stress and deprivation.

Two of the bears were repeatedly bred, with their cubs always being taken from them shortly after birth.

But thankfully this all came to an end.

They're now roaming acres of natural habitat at The Wild Animal Sanctuary in Keenesburg, Colorado.
