Well, in the case of Chris, Matt, and Cait, they are actually making it work and making it work remarkably well.

Cait Earnest shares an intimate one-bed apartment with her two boyfriends and their two adorable pups.

Her partners Chris and Matt, 28, Brandt - who are married - have been together for eight years and were exploring an open relationship when Cait, 28, met Chris, 38, on a dating app in 2015.

When they realized that they had strong feelings for each other, Chris asked Matt if he could invite Cait into their relationship.

Chris and Cait describe themselves as bisexual, whereas Matt prefers to call himself 'homoflexible'.

Meeting Chris and Matt also gave Cait her first experience of a sex life with more than one person.

She said: "I had never been with two people at the same time before. It’s different strokes for different folks but I would say it’s a pretty fun sex life."

According to Matt, one particularly nice bonus is all the extra gifts for Christmas and birthdays.

Now that they have been living together for two years, the trouple is even discussing future children.

Matt added:

"As far as kids, I think any child would be lucky to have three parents but we have two dogs for now and that’s enough."
