We all have our shows that we never want to miss because the storyline is so intriguing. Maybe you want to see what happened after the characters had their first kiss. Maybe you just need to see who got shot in the ending scene of the previous episode. Either way, they have you hooked in over their storylines. However, there are a ton of shows out there that we enjoy that have zero storylines. It makes us wonder why we even watch.
These TV Shows Are About Nothing, But We Love Them Anyway
Seinfeld
Seinfeld is the only one of these shows that tells you that it is about nothing. In fact, they even did an episode where they pitch a show about nothing to tv executives. The irony of that episode was not lost on its viewers.
The Office
This is probably one of the most ridiculous shows on television right now. It is set up to be like a reality TV show where many times the cast is sitting down in front of the camera in a confession-like setting. However, there is not much going on except for the occasional love story.
Two Broke Girls
This show follows two broke girls who are working in a diner. While they are quirky and funny, there is no real storyline to follow. There is no doubt that they make a strange pair, and they are trying to start their own business, but besides those two things, there is not much to say about the show.
It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia
A group of friends runs an Irish pub in Philadelphia, two of them are siblings. The show basically shows them doing stupid stuff and getting into awkward situations. There is no solid storyline except that they are running this bar. The show is quite funny, but there is not much of a point to it.
Cheers
We all loved this show growing up. Most of us remember sitting on the couch yelling, "Norm!" with the cast, but was there really much of a storyline? Not really. We did watch Sam and his love life, but besides that, there was not much else to speak of. If asked what the show was about, most people would just say "a group of people at a bar who had a slut bartender named Sam."
Bob's Burgers
It is easy to see why kids like this show, it does not take much to keep them entertained, but for us adults, we wonder why they watch it. The show is about Bob who owns a burger joint that has been handed down by his family. Business is slow, but Bob is proud of his establishment. Their daughter Tina has a thing for the son of a competing business owner, and Bob's wife's ex is a health inspector who enjoys harassing Bob. That is about all there is for the storyline.
You're The Worst
This show follows Jimmy and Gretchen who do not have the best luck when it comes to relationships. It doesn't help that one is a total narcissist and the other is a cynic. The two eventually hook up, but it doesn't last. It is a lot of back and forth with no real future in sight which is what we look for in a good show.
Curb Your Enthusiasm
You should have guessed that this show would make the list since Larry David was a co-creator on Seinfeld. Larry David plays a version of himself. The show is all improv which makes it interesting. Larry David has a dry humor that some can relate to, but the show has no real premise.
Parks And Recreation
This one falls along the same lines of The Office except there is a storyline that can be followed about a woman who wants to make her town pretty by building a park, but it is not that exciting. It makes us wonder if people only watch it because Amy Poehler is a comedic genius. Without her, this show probably would not have gotten past their first season.
Frasier
Frasier was a spin-off of the show Cheers where we often saw the therapist appear to give good advice to the cast on that show. The show, Frasier, brought in a new character, a very uptight brother and the contrast between the characters drew us in. Besides the fact that Frasier had a radio talk show, there was no real plot to the show for us to follow, but the advice he gave was invaluable.
