#1 t first, we used a little syringe which we fashioned with a nipple to feed her. She needed to be fed every two hours, including throughout the night. Eventually we fed her from a bottle.

If you ever need to feed a kitten in this way, don't push the plunger. Let them suck it out. Pushing the plunger (too much) will cause the kitten to aspirate the formula, leading to a lung infection and death. Had a little scare with this one night. But keep reading, everything turns out ok!!

#2 She was probably less than twelve hours old when we found her.

We found her under some hedges, her rear paw tangled in the netting that landscapers sometimes put down. It was swollen, and the skin was a shade of purple or blue. She was covered in flies and larva. She was wailing for her mom, who was no where to be found. We cut her loose, bathed her, and decided to keep her.

#3 Put a TINY PINCH of Metamucil into the formula to avoid this unfortunate discomfort.

What we didn't know is that formula doesn't contain any fiber, so little baby Jules got constipated. She didn't poop for days. Luckily, the internet came to her rescue, and we learned about The Triangle Method (google it, or look on youtube). The constipation could have killed her. The joy we would feel when a turd finally fell out was amazing.

#4 This is Jules learning to walk. “…At first her little tiny legs couldn’t fully support the weight of her body. She was adorable, crawling around.”

#6 She thinks that everything has nipples sometimes, including our couch.

#7 She’s quite feisty and likes to wrestle with the hands!

#8 This was before her eyes changed colors.

#9 Memento is a very demure cat. Her and Jules tolerate one another, and maybe there's a little bit of a buddy relationship there, but these are not two cats who enjoy cuddling with one another,
