11-year-old Mikaila wasn't always an advocate for bees, but when she was four years old, she was stung by two bees in the same week. This naturally caused her to become anxious and skittish around the insects, so her parents suggested that she did some research on them to turn her fear into knowledge.

She found that not only are bees responsible for pollinating one third of the food we eat but are also in danger of becoming extinct.

"I became fascinated with bees. I learned all about what they do for me and our ecosystem," Mikaila says. She started using honeybees, which she incorporated her Great Granny Helen's recipe. "That's how BeeSweet Lemonade was born," she said. "It comes from my Great Granny Helen's flaxseed recipe and my new love for bees."

The great thing about this young entrepreneur is that she's a kind-hearted person. She always donates a portion of her profit to the organizations that protect honeybee populations. Besides selling her lemonade, Mikaila is also busy speaking at workshops on how to save the honeybees. She also helps other kids, who are interested in becoming entrepreneurs.
