It has been more than 100 years for the sinking of the Titanic but it remains one of the most intriguing historical tragedies to have ever occurred. People of all ages are still fascinated by the lore that surrounds its ultimate demise. Several films, books, and documentaries have attempted to illustrate exactly what happened to the Titanic, its crew, and those unfortunate passengers on that terrible night. However, none of them have ever truly captured the terrifying events.

Many of the world has now watched the classic 1997 film about British passenger liner The Titanic...and know that it famously sank after only being at sea for five days. But what we've all failed to truly see is what it would have been like to be on the boat when it went down...which thankfully we weren't!

1,500 passengers and crew were killed in the sinking, making it one of the deadliest ship sinking in modern history.

#4 375 Miles

The boat sailed off April 10th 1912, traveling 375 miles towards New York before it hit the deadly iceberg...

The collision with the iceberg caused five of the ships sixteen watertight compartments to be completely opened up, allowing the ship to fill with water over the course of around 3 hours.

Luckily, the estimated 705 survivors who made it off the ship were picked up by the RMS Carpathia ship shortly after the Titanic disappeared into the sea forever. The boat still sits at the bottom of the sea split into two pieces, but disintegrates as time goes on.
