Couple Defends Their Love After Wedding Photo Goes Viral

21-year-old Ashley and her boyfriend Christopher not only share a deep connection, but also a playful sense of humor. Ashley caught the bouquet at a recent wedding, so she and Christopher thought it would be fun to take a goofy picture. "She caught the bouquet And I'm in trouble," Christopher jokes in the caption, with a look of shock on his face.
The photo was posted online and quickly went viral on Reddit but for all the wrong reasons. The comments were downright despicable. The Georgia couple of two and a half years have been met with thousands of internet bullies and their hateful comments, saying things like, "That fatty should be jumping up and down that this girl is even with him let alone him possibly getting that much closer to marrying her."

In the face of such cruelty, it's Ashley and Christopher's reaction to the unexpected spotlight that's leaving the biggest mark. Christopher initially laughed off the negativity and took the high road. "Honestly, I've always been a big guy the majority of my life and so of course I had the comments and the cruel jokes growing up, so I kind of got used to it. I know who I am and I really don't care what people have to say about me because I'm confident," he told ABC News. "It's trolls sitting behind their computers. They don't know us and they can't talk about us, so honestly it just didn't bother me."
Ashley is now taking to the internet to defend her love for Christopher. "Well let me just tell you, I have won the jackpot with Christopher. Hey may not have rock hard abs like the world tells girls to want in a guy, but really, why does that even matter when you are trying to really find someone you want to spend the rest of your life with?"
The happy couple says this experience has even brought them closer. Check out their story, and please SHARE this with your friends on Facebook.

Happy Couple
"Well let me just tell you, I won the jackpot with Christopher. He may not have rock hard abs like the world tells girls to want in a guy, but really, why does that even matter when you are trying to really find someone you want to spend the rest of your life with?"
Catching Some Waves
"He is so thoughtful and patient. He always shows me how he loves me in little ways. He is my best friend. I love him for who he is and he loves me for who I am. Understanding, loving and hilarious, which is so rare to find these days!!"
Love Wins Out
"Since I was young, (like many other little girls) I dreamed about who I would end up with. Once I gave my life to Christ and saw examples of Godly marriages and relationships, I wanted that. God saw the desires of my heart and gave me Christopher. He brings me closer to God through prayer, and his love. I know God will use us both for awesome things because we make a great team!"
