Aaron Gillies and his wife Lex have been married for a year. In that time, Aaron had worked out that his wife cried at just about anything and everything. While I might find this slightly annoying, the London-based comedy writer kept a list titled “Reasons My Wife Is Crying.” For a month he detailed everything that left his wife in tears, and it turned out to be hilarious.
This Guy Wrote Down Everything That Made His Wife Cry For A Month, The List Is Hilarious
#1 Here’s the list that Aaron made about his wife
#2 He posted it to Twitter on Sunday and it has since been retweeted more than 24,000 times.
#3 And just in case you can’t read Aaron’s writing, here is the list again…
Gillies told The Huffington Post that his wife found the list "very amusing" and didn't mind him sharing it online.
"I did ask her before I posted it online, as I didn't want her to get any negative attention from it, as usually happens with the internet," he said. "She doesn't care that she is an emotional person, and it ends up being brilliant for anecdotes!"
#4 On Monday, Aaron also posted the list to Imgur where it was viewed more than 2 million times. Was he aware that his little list would go so viral? Absolutely not says Aaron.
"I thought it would get about 12 retweets from people that know Lex in real life and know what she is like," he told HuffPost. "Neither of us thought it would go this big! But so many people are identifying with it, maybe sensitivity is seen as something not many people talk about openly, so seeing someone show it started a rather large conversation!"
I feel like I've walked a few steps in Aaron's shoes, as my own girlfriend cries very easily. She even cries at the bad Christmas movies that come on every year (even though she's seen them all before, and the acting is incredibly bad). In short, I'm not at all surprised this went viral, because being sensitive is something can all relate to in some way or another.
