Shabani is a Western Lowland Gorilla who has been living at the Higashiyama Zoo and Botanical Gardens in Japan for the past eight years. But he only recently skyrocketed to international Internet-model fame when a bunch of thirsty Japanese chicks blew him up on social media

He earned the nickname 'ikemen', which translates to 'young extremely handsome guy'. Fan commentary also includes "This era isn't just for Johnny's! It's for sexy gorilla Shabani!" (what?) and my personal favorite, "So~o ~ ♡ friendly strong Yo~o."

It's already a little weird how everyone has the hots for a gorilla, but the report does the exact opposite of quelling this when they say things like, "his rugged good looks have been breaking all the human standards of handsomeness." Wait, really? ALL the human standards? Although he really does have "chiseled facial features"...
