When a cat finally had her litter, there were two kinds of surprises in the bunch.

While 3 of the kittens were normal, totally healthy kittens, two of them were unusually small. They were thought to have been deprived of oxygen, and there was concern that they would not be able to be safely placed in a home. But, the shelter that they were brought to had experience dealing with dwarfism in cats, and they were able to identify and address the problem properly.

This is Elfie. She’s the lady of this adorable duo.

This is Gimli, her brother.

Their adoptive mother was working at the shelter when they were being processed.

It was true love at first sight, and she decided right then to be their foster mom.

If there’s anything alright to fail at, it’s fostering, because it means these two tiny tots ended up with a forever home!
