We all have insecurities. There are things we wish we could change about ourselves or get rid of completely. Unfortunately, there are some things we just have to learn to live with and hopefully one day embrace about ourselves. In the meantime there are other things we can do to try and accept certain parts of us.
This Mom With A Rare Syndrome Teaches Us A Lot About What Beauty Really Means
#1 Makeup is a wonderful tool to draw attention to the parts of us that we like and to feel more confident.
Not everyone wears makeup and that's okay. Makeup is a personal preference. Some days I wear more makeup than others. It's just my way of boosting my own confidence and feeling pretty. But when it comes down to it, feeling good about yourself comes from the inside, not what we put on. One woman uses makeup to feel beautiful, but she has also learned to embrace herself the way she is without makeup.
#2 Joanne Tronconi was born with Klippel-Trenaunay syndrome.
It causes severe swelling on her face and body wherever her birthmark, a port-wine stain, covers. The swelling didn't start until Joanna was 40 when she fell on a patch of ice. She actually didn't even know she had the syndrome until then. Many people stare and comment on Joanne's deformity, so she says she uses makeup to make herself feel beautiful.
#3 She uses Dermablend leg and body cover foundation to create an even tone on her face.
Then she uses blush to highlight her fabulous cheekbones.
#4 Her son, known as Clawdeena on his YouTube channel, begins filling in her brows.
Then he moves on to her eyes and uses peachy tones to give her flawless lids! But we're not done yet!
#5 Now is the fun part...winged eyeliner.
With cat-like eyes and full mascara, this momma is almost ready to strut her stuff.
#6 Last but definitely not least...the lips.
Using Kylie Jenner Kylie Cosmetics Lip Kit - Dolce K + Candy K, Joanne gets a beautiful lip color to complete her look!
#7 Joanne says she uses makeup to feel beautiful...
...but her message is that we are all beautiful in our own way.
