#1 This Is The Magnificent and Beautiful Kamchatka Peninsula.
#2 This 780-mile peninsula in Eastern Russia is home to some of the most striking natural landmarks in the world.

#3 UNESCO has named their breathtaking, famous volcano's one of their National Heritage sites.
#4 The peninsula has the same latitude as western Europe, but because of the high precipitation, they receive a totally absurd amount of throughout the Winter months. Four to Six times as much as the rest of Europe, or Russia.

#5 One resident of the peninsula documented a recent snowstorm to show just how much they have to deal with during the harsh winters.

#6 The snow and drifts are nearly three stories tall as seen on this 5 story apartment building.
advertisement
#7 It took two days to clear out from this storm, and there are still walls of snow obscuring everything from doorways to roads.
advertisement
#8 Even with the clearing, during the Winter, there is only room for one car on the road at a time.
advertisement
#9 The sidewalks never get cleared, so pedestrians have to edge up against the snow banks while cars pass.
advertisement
#10 The snow is so high in the town that you are unable to reach the tops of the drifts. And that's inside the town, where they keep it cleared.

#11 Out in the countryside, the snow gets even deeper. Sometimes as high as 12 feet. And though it is cleared here, it normally doesn't get cleared until the first thaw arrives.
advertisement
#12 And when that thaw does arrive, and summer is around the corner, watch out...
#13 because all of the roads basically turn into raging rivers.

#14 Who's ready to pack their bags and move to the Kamchatka Peninsula?
