Saving battery life on your phone can be a pain in the a**, but apparently it really is as easy as 1-2-3.

Just select your Facebook app, press Delete and hit OK or however your device has it set up for app removal.

Now this isn't to state that you shouldn't use Facebook itself, but their app has been proven time and time again to eat at your phone battery like an industrial vacuum in a sandbox. Android Central originally discovered that removing the app itself from your phone and instead using the web browser version saved 20% of their Android's battery life.

Samuel Gibbs of The Guardian saw the opportunity to test it himself, instead using the iPhone 6. After the week-long test he discovered that Android wasn't the only one suffering from Facebook consuming their batteries, it's also Apple. Fifteen percent of battery life was saved when they used the mobile webpage versus the app.

For iPhone users this makes things vastly easier, just delete the app and open up Safari. Then you'll want to go to Facebook and press the button at the bottom of the page that looks like a box with an arrow pointing up. If you scroll through the options you'll find "Add to Homescreen," press that and you're done! It's really that simple to save so much more battery life. So pass along this message to your family and friends so they can get that much more phone battery life out of their phone!
