Rock climber Luis Cardona recently asked his girlfriend to marry him, and his proposal totally rocked. He popped the question to Maddy Thorpe, who he met in August 2015, while the two were at Elevation Rock Gym in Logan, Utah.

Grand proposals, that’s what love stories are all about and why shouldn’t they be! After all, if you are head-over-heels for someone, why not profess it the same way!

Maddy Thorpe and Luis Cardona’s relationship was ‘rock solid’ relationship had evolved over the period of time when the couple started climbing rocks together, so he obviously thought there is no better way to ask her to marry him than at the Elevation Rock gym, where they practiced together.
Their Photographer India Earl, helped Luis to formulate a plan to make the ambience perfect by using strings of warm white lights.

That night, while Maddy was at the top of one of her climbs, Luis held her in place while their friends came in, turned off all the lights and quickly decorated the gym with string lights and rose petals and all at once, they turned on the string lights, creating a gorgeous glow.

“At first Maddy was a little frightened because she was hanging up there in the air in the pitch black! After she realized what was going on she started to cry. Then as I lowered her down and asked [her to marry me], she started laugh-crying. She was pretty stoked on it and of course I was too.”
