This Teen Wrote Her Number On A Softball To Try To Get A Date And Got A Text Back 6 Years Later
Hayley Robbins was 12 years old when she went on a trip to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. She wrote her name and number on a softball with the message “if found, call me cute guys.” Years, after she threw the softball into the sea her message, was answered
She tells Yahoo Lifestyle, “I wanted to do a message in a bottle type of thing but I didn’t have a bottle so I bought a softball with me instead, I thought it would be cool to see if anyone found it, especially cute guys.”
She never expected that her message will be answered until last week she got a message from an unknown number saying, “I wanna be your superhero, guess my name.”
The sender claimed to be a guy named "Adam" who found her softball on the beach but eventually revealed her name was Kelci and she was from North Carolina.
Kelci found the ball six years ago but she lost it among her things, she found the softball recently while cleaning out her closet. She said she initially used a fake name because she wasn't sure who exactly she'd be texting.
She shared the story on Twitter, People seemed to really love the story.
"brb gonna go buy a softball and throw it into the ocean so my love story can start."
"This is the start......of something new."
"I’m mostly amazed by the fact that you kept the same number for SIX YEARS, lol."
"This is the greatest thing I've seen all day. Like how the world does that happen. I am shook."
"Hollywood gotta make this into a movie now bruh."
Hayley has no hard feelings, she will keep in touch with Kelci. Even though the ball didn't lead her to her Prince Charming, Hayley still thought it was a super-cool story.
